Frequently Asked Questions
We're here to help! Here are the most common questions we get asked about our in home physiotherapy service. If you can't find what you're looking for, we'd love to chat, you can contact us here.
-
What is physiotherapy? Most people will seek out a physiotherapist when they're in pain, but pain management is only part of what we do. For long-term results our physiotherapists will develop a plan with you to achieve your goals by improving your flexibility, mobility and strength. Treatments consist of hands on manual therapy, joint mobilisation, joint manipulation, soft tissue massage and dry needling. These techniques help to reduce pain and improve range of movement. Exercise rehabilitation programs consist of strengthening, stretching and control exercises to provide long term results and reduce the risk of injuries reoccurring.
-
What can I expect during my appointment? At My Home Physio we reserve 60 and 30 minute appointments for initial and subsequent consultations respectively. This allows our therapists to perform a thorough assessment and diagnose the underlying cause of your symptoms and develop a management plan tailored specifically to you. Your assessment may include: Measurement of range of movement and flexibility Muscle strength, control and endurance tests Functional movement assessment Special diagnostic tests Our physiotherapists will discuss the findings with you and recommend a course of treatment to help you return to doing the activities you love most.

-
Do you accept private health insurance? We accept all self-funded clients, including those using private health insurance. We have on the spot claiming available through HICAPS / Medipass and gap payments can be made via credit or debit card.
-
Are you a preferred provider? My Home Physio is not a preferred provider. Being a preferred provider is not a meausre of quality, it's simply means the fee structure meets the insurers requirements. To achieve this many providers will reduce their appointment duration or the consultation quality is impacted. It also means health funds will pay a larger portion of the fee and you will run out of physiotherapy cover faster, leaving you to pay consultation fees in full after fewer appointments. We made the decision to not become a preferred provider because we believe in providing the best quality physiotherapy service to help you reach your goals.

Most clinics will also charge travel fees in addition to their consultation fees. At My Home Physio, we believe in providing as much value as we can to our clients and so we have chosen to provide our services below the price limit set by the NDIS on weekdays and we don't charge additional fees for travel in the city or surrounding suburbs. Consultation fees: Monday - Friday $195 Saturday $224
